Today my grandfather has permanent nerve shock & when he came back home from war, it took him six years to put his head back on straight. Today, he declares that if you don't have any political ideology/efficacy going into a new enviroment, you will be brainwashed and manipulated.

These are medicine wheels. Medicine wheels are spiritually and culturally sacred symbol in the Native American cutlture. They were designed on trays that were being thrown out of my the restaurant that my grandfather cooked at, the Jockey Club. On the trays are real feathers from birds and he used oil paint to design them. Created in 1993.

My grandfather painted some of the blinds in his house.In Baltimore peope painted their window screens, so my grandfather wanted to try something new.  He used spray paint and hand paint. Created in 2007.
Mother Earth. Yemoja, Nigerian symbol for Goddess of Love. She came in a form of a tsunami when man mistreated the earth-3000 year old folktale. Painted on masonite. Created in 1976.
Mother Earth and it's decay, the bird would bring peace to the world. My grandfather used decaying metal, spray paint and oil in the background. Created in 1994.

The back wall in my granfather's studio is a painting of a sunset. He used acrylic paint. Created in 1997.
Spirit Keeper of the East, brings message of God to man. The eagle is the most sacred animal in the medicine world.  Designed on a tray from the Jockey Club. He used spray paint, real stones, and did some wood carving. Created in 1999.
Father Sky. Inspired from Native American culture. Made from old wood, plastic, beads from Africa, and costume jewelry, and spray paint. Created in 1996.
The water buffalo is also a sacred animal,it gave the Native Americans everything they needed to survive. In mythology, it meant world peace. The frame came from a head board and he used oil paint.  Created in  1983.
